Cookies
We use so-called cookies on our site to detect when our website is used multiple times by the same user/Internet connection owner. Cookies are small text files that your Internet browser places and stores on your computer. They are used to optimise our website and services. These are usually so-called ‘session cookies’, which are deleted after the end of your visit.
In some cases, these cookies also contain information that allow you to be recognised automatically when you return to the site. This recognition is based on the IP address stored in the cookies. The information obtained in this way is used to improve our services and to allow you easier access to our site.
You can prevent cookies from being installed by adjusting the settings in your browser accordingly; you should be aware, however, that by doing so you may not be able to make full use of all the functions of our website.

Server data
For technical reasons, the following data sent by your Internet browser to us or to our webspace provider will be collected (so-called server log files):

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system used
  • Website from which you visit us (referrer URL)
  • Web page you are visiting Date and time of your access
  • Your Internet Protocol (IP) address.

These anonymous data are stored separately from any personal data you may submit and cannot be traced back to a specific person. They are analysed for statistical purposes in order to improve our website and our services.

Ways to contact us
On our site, you can contact us by e-mail and/or via a contact form. In this case, the information provided by the user is stored for the purpose of processing his or her contact request. This data is not transferred to third parties. Data collected in this way are not compared with data that may be collected by other parts of our site.

Use of Google Analytics with anonymisation
We use Google Analytics, a web analysis service of the company Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, hereinafter ‘Google’. Google Analytics uses so-called ‘cookies’, text files that are stored on your computer which enable an analysis of your use of the website.
The information generated by these cookies, such as time, place and frequency of your visits to our website, including your IP address, is transmitted to Google’s location in the US and stored there. We use Google Analytics on our website with the extension ‘_gat._anonymizeIp’. In doing so, Google abbreviates and thereby anonymises your IP address before transferring it from member states of the European Union or signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Google will use this information to analyse your use of our website, to compile reports on website activities for us and to provide additional services related to website and Internet use. Google may also transfer this information to third parties if this is required by law or if this data is processed by third parties on Google’s behalf.
Google states that it will never associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You can prevent cookies from being installed by adjusting the settings in your browser software accordingly; you should be aware, however, that by doing so you may not be able to make full use of all the functions of our website.
Furthermore, Google offers a deactivation add-on for most current browsers that provides you with more control over what data Google can collect on websites you access. The add-on tells the JavaScript (ga.js) used by Google Analytics not to transmit any information about website visits to Google Analytics. However, the browser deactivation add-on offered by Google Analytics does not prevent information from being transmitted to us or to other web analysis services we may use. You can find more information on how to install the browser add-on at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en-GB

Use of Google+ referral components
We use the button of the provider Google+ of the company Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, hereinafter ‘Google’. Every time you visit our website which is equipped with such a component, this component causes the browser you are using to download a corresponding representation of the component from Google. Through this process, Google is informed about which specific page of our website is currently being visited.
According to information from Google, no further analysis of your visit is carried out if you are not logged in to your Google Account.
If you visit our site while logged in to Google, Google may collect information about your Google account, the website you recommend, your IP address and other browser-related information when you confirm the button.
In this way, your recommendation can be saved and made publicly accessible. Your Google recommendation can then be displayed as a reference together with your account name and, if applicable, your photo stored at Google in Google services, such as in search results or in your Google account or elsewhere, such as on websites and ads on the Internet. Furthermore, Google may link your visit to our site to your data stored on Google. Google also records this information in order to further improve Google services. The best way to prevent the above-mentioned collection by Google is to sign out of your Google Account before visiting our website.
You can access Google’s privacy policy for the button with all other information about the collection, transfer and use of data by Google, your rights in this regard and your profile setting options here: https://developers.google.com/+/web/buttons-policy

Use of Facebook components
We use components of the provider facebook.com on our site. Facebook is a service of facebook Inc, 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA.
Every time you visit our website which is equipped with such a component, this component causes the browser you are using to download a corresponding representation of the facebook component. Through this process, facebook is informed about which specific page of our website is currently being visited.
If you access our site while logged in to facebook, facebook uses the information collected by the component to identify which specific page you are visiting and assigns this information to your personal account on facebook. For example, if you click the ‘like’ button or make comments, this information is transferred to your personal user account on facebook and stored there. Furthermore, the information that you have visited our site will be forwarded to facebook. This happens regardless of whether you click on the component or not.
If you want to prevent facebook’s transmission and storage of data about you and your behaviour on our website, you must log out of facebook before you visit our site. Facebook’s privacy policy provides more detailed information, in particular on the collection and use of data by facebook, on your rights in this regard and on the setting options for protecting your privacy:

In addition, external tools are available on the market to block social plugins from facebook using add-ons for all popular browsers http://webgraph.com/resources/facebookblocker/
An overview of the facebook plugins can be found at https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/

Use of Google AdWords
We also use the Google advertising tool ‘Google AdWords’ to promote our website. As part of this, we use the ‘Conversion Tracking’ analysis service of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, hereinafter ‘Google’. If you access our site via a Google ad, a cookie is placed on your computer. Cookies are small text files that your Internet browser places and stores on your computer. These so-called ‘conversion cookies’ are no longer active after 30 days and are not used to identify you personally. If you visit certain pages of our website while the cookie is still active, we and Google know that you, as a user, have clicked on ads placed on Google and were redirected to our site.
Google uses the information obtained through ‘conversion cookies’ to compile statistics for our website. These statistics tell us the total number of users who have clicked on our ad and which pages of our site were then accessed by each user. However, neither we nor other advertisers who use ‘Google AdWords’ receive any kind of information that can be used to personally identify users.
You can prevent the installation of ‘conversion cookies’ by making the appropriate changes to your browser settings, for example, by setting your browser so that the automatic placement of cookies is deactivated or by blocking cookies from the domain ‘googleadservices.com’.
You can access the relevant Google privacy statement at the following link:

Use of Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense on our website. Google AdSense is a service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, for integrating ads. Google AdSense uses so-called ‘cookies’, text files that are stored on your computer and that enable an analysis of your use of our website. Google AdSense also uses so-called ‘web beacons’. Web beacons allow Google to analyse information, such as visitor traffic to our website. This information, along with your IP address and the ad format displayed, is transmitted to Google in the US where it is stored and may be transferred by Google to contractual partners. However, Google does not merge your IP address with other data stored about you. You can prevent cookies from being installed by adjusting the settings in your browser accordingly; you should be aware, however, that by doing so you may not be able to make full use of all the functions of our website. By using our website, you allow Google to process data collected about you in the manner described above and for the purpose stated above.

Access/withdrawal/erasure
In accordance with the German Federal Data Protection Act, you can contact us free of charge with questions regarding the collection, processing or use of your personal data and their rectification, restriction or erasure, or the withdrawal of a given consent. Please note that you are entitled to a rectification of inaccurate data or the deletion of personal data if this request does not conflict with a legal obligation to retain it.
